GoMeansGo’s annual 4th of July sprints race
The last weekend of June 2012 brings us racing fun put on by the guys from Zlog. Being that this has been the wettest June on record here in Rain City, there’s a good chance that we’ll see some exciting fixed gear action in the rain. There will be prizes for first road and first fixed.
$15 covers your entry fee and also gets you a T-shirt and a can of domestic mid-West regional macrobrew.
Race starts at 2:00PM at Cal Anderson.
I’ll see you there!
I’m working with Ben from Back Alley Bike Repair and some other local cycling-oriented businesses to create a Lucas Brunelle-worthy screening party here in Seattle. I’ll most likely be piggy backing onto the 2012 Tour d’Alley since all the permits are in place as well as having the Skillet food truck parked nearby.
We’ll most likely be announcing an impromptu “flash mob” style alleycat for cash at the event so stay tuned!
In the meantime, here’s Lucas Brunelle’s fine work:
I went on a search for a venue to commandeer for a screening of Lucas Brunelle’s upcoming film “Line of Sight.”
Unfortunately, the venues are all out of my current cash poor financial means.
I had to pick up a new brake cable and bar tape for one of my bikes. Since I was in the area and I hadn’t been to the shop yet, I popped in to Back Alley Bike Repair. I mentioned my predicament to Ben, who suggested that we add the film to an existing Tour d’France viewing party.
There will be local food trucks on hand, and the alley business members have already secured the permits to allow for the consumption of adult beverages and there may even be an impromptu alleycat race.
I’m meeting with Ben and some others involved on Friday to hash out the details.
Greg from GoMeansGo passed word of my shitty film making onto Monica at Menstrual Monday. She asked me to join the all female race this Saturday the 23rd as a ride along so I could capture some POV action.
Looking forward to it!
